One of my best friends who shall remain unnamed is an accomplished, educated, and intelligent professional. And despite her keen understanding of her attributes on a theoretical plane, from an emotional perspective, she believes herself to be just the opposite.

I find that many successful and smart women such as my friend sometimes labor behind back breaking personal misconceptions. It seems as though our net worth grows proportionally to our insecurities. It is no wonder we fall short of our towering expectations.

But here is the fundamental truth we refuse to acknowledge until it is too late:
