Despite the wars they wage and the fragile truces they make, their brotherhood is fortified and strengthened each day. What a comfort to instinctually know your sibling is a safe harbor when you are most afraid.
Sometimes in the darkest hours I hear the twins shuffle and drag pillows across floors as they migrate from one bed to another. They fold their small bodies together and swiftly fall asleep, their bodies intuitively finding their earliest embryonic positions.
Oddly, when these bed swaps occur, Rock-and-Roll sometimes opens his door, looks around, and then softly closes it — a silent acknowledgement that a natural adjustment has taken place.
