It’s strange the things women will share, even overshare, but stranger yet are the things they won’t share.
How many times have you sat in a doctor’s office and within the space of 40 minutes the woman sitting next to you has told you every last intimate detail of her 18 hour vaginal birth? Or for that matter, while waiting for your daughter at dance school, listened to other women openly discuss how their breast augmentation, vaginal rejuvenation, and Botox treatments have enhanced their stellar sex lives.
Most women readily share their war stories as a way to establish common ground. Men tend to establish these same connections by talking about cars or sports teams.
But, dare ask these same ladies about their party affiliation or their stance on gay marriage? Well, that’s taboo. It’s private and confidential.
Some things are personal and it’s rude to ask.
